Northern Creative Theatre was established in 2008 with Joanne Hartley at the helm as artistic director.
The company enjoyed a small regional tour in 2008 as one of a collection of short theatre pieces (Midget Gems) and have been programmed at festivals including Emerge, Accidental Festival at The Roundhouse and Compass Festival of Live Art.
During 2011 Northern Creative participated in Theatre in the Mill’s Open Space programme, were supported by the University of Leeds’ Incubator scheme, began a mentoring relationship with Forced Entertainment’s Cathy Naden and underwent training with the Independent Theatre Council.
